Do a search for "228R" (same cam), and you'll find a lot of satisfied owners. It's an older cam, but a very good one for daily driving judging from reviews. The 228R was one of the few that I was deciding between.
I have been looking at the Comp PN 54-444-11..224/230...581/592 but been told is 588 not 592 sounds big for street but read and asked said works good on the street better with stick car or stall with auto .. 114 LSA... Bam for the buck and works on the street is the deal I say either would work ..
currently on my 4th cam, with the work involved I wouldn't bother with anything less than 230/230 on an n/a setup. even daily driven, the sweet spot for me anywhere 232-234.
but this is an opinionated question
Do you daily drive your car? And I'd imagine you would have to have a tune with a cam that big would I need to upgrade anything else at the same time? Sorry I never done a cam upgrade just going off what Texas performance told me thanks for the replys.

I daily a 239/242 111LSA yes, that's on the max effort side of "cam only"/ borderline of daily side of things. the tune is critical. hence my 232-324 claim for the average individual. you can widen the LSA to make it more friendly. like in the 114-115 range. you'll need to upgrade springs and pushrods.

One of my favorite setups I had was a Futral F14 cam, that fell right in the 232-234 range. It was a blast to drive and made great power. If I ever go back with a 346 cid again it will be in that combo.
While, I did not change cams a lot in my 346 setup I have however been through 3 in my 383 stroker I currently have. If you are looking for the most power you can go big in the 346, but drive-ability will suffer. Drive-ability though is subjective to the user.
I've got a 03 Z06 and I have headers, high flow cats, and stock mufflers just like you do. My car has a camshaft right in the middle of the 228-234 range. Mine is a custom grind of a 228/232 .595/.595 113LSA and its small enough that its easily daily driveable if need be, but it large enough that you "feel it" and hear it.
I know of several people that have a 228R in their F bodies and they all like them and have no complaints.
I really need to go for a ride in some mild cam cars. I love that I can put my car in third gear and pull away from a stop without any problems. Not that I do that often, but it's nice to have all that torque off idle.
