With the car running at 1500rpm or more, you should be putting out 14.4 volts or so. Not 12.2 volts. Even with a bad battery, (or no battery at all), your alternator output should be reading 14.4 volts at the battery connections. If you have a grounded plate in your battery, you could suck down your voltage a bit. Sounds like alternator to me.
Rev up the car with a multi-meter attached to the battery cables. Does the voltage go up? If all else fails, remove your alternator and have it tested at Autozone

Auto Zone said alternator too and the battery is reading the same as the alt output because it wont charge it any more. With the car running I put the millimeter at the alt and it reads 12.2 output. I see 12.2 ish on he DIC while driving. My other C5 reads 13.8 to 14 while driving. Sounds like its time for a new alt. Any advice on the best place to get one?
Alt first then the battery if needed. It tested healthy and only the alt tested bad so well see
Although costly, am OEM may be your best bet. Some c5's are persnickety about replacements. I've heard many members buy cheapest with no problem and others that go through 3 (me ) alternators before they get one that works with their car.

Put one in last week from Rock auto. It was a Delco Reman. No issues. I had to replace a non-delco since it kept throwing codes.
Just put in a Duralast I picked up and its DOA 11.9 volts at the alt. I took a known good alt out of my other Z06 and boom 14 volts at the battery.
What a piece of ****. time to go take this piece back.
So I just tried a second alt from auto zone and the same thing happened. I even had them test it before I left. I think the issue is the alt is not "talking" correctly with the PCM. Looks like ill be buying an OE replacement. Nothing like a 400 dollar alternator.
I just ordered part number #10316182 Delco OEM New replacement which is the new part number for my original 10246634. I might have the stocker rebuild and keep it on the shelf. Wish me luck....OG and amazon prime for the win!!!! $290 buck 2 day shipping...
