Default Speaker swap

Thanks to Dennis at Double D I've made a successful rear sub install into my Z06. It made a huge improvement to the factory system.
Can I get some feedback to see if there is much to gain in exchanging the rear 5.25" speakers and the 3" door units? I know I need to exchange the head unit, but I'm just not there yet.

Thx for your input!

You can check out what I did as part of my Grand Sport project...

...jump to post #48 for detail on the stereo install.

Long story short - yes, replace the factory speakers...even with the OEM HU (which I kept on purpose to keep the factory look) it makes a huge difference.

Are you sure about those speaker sizes? I think the fronts are 6.25 or so. I replaced mine using adapters from Dennis. The rears are 5.25 which required no adapters. I have an '02 Vert though.

Why stop at just the sub? I bought my sub from Dennis also. The rest of the system is Pioneer which I did myself, including the double din conversion.

Change out those rear speakers. I first tried Apline's then switched out to Pioneers.
