I am looking at some Z06s and curious at what kind of mileage folks have on theirs when they start seeing issues? I know a lot of it is subjective on how the car is treated but should I have any reservations about picking up a well cared for Z06 with say 40K miles? Whatever I get will probably only get driven 2-3K miles per year so not going to drive it a lot. Thanks for the input!

40K miles is nothing on these cars.
If it has been well taken care of, you should easily have 100,000 miles to go without any major issues unless you drive it like a madman or get the mod bug.
I wouldn't try to find a stock one. I'd rather get one with a better clutch, good shifter, stereo upgrade, rebuilt trans from say, RPM, and maybe stronger axles.

Yes flyingrazorback. What he said like my Z06 that's for sale. AND you get super low mileage. My transmission has been upgraded and I have a mantic ER2 clutch and MGW shifter installed already👍. Weak points have been addressed.
All, thanks for the info. The last C5 I had I only kept it until 28K miles before selling it. I got my eye on that white 2001 Z06 in the classifieds, but the mileage is on my mind.
mileage has a strong connection to paint condition but not a lot else. the state the car lived in and how it was stored along with how it was operated are really big deals and get little attention in talks
a xxx mile car from the rust belt that was raced is worth a LOT less than the same mileage from an old man in northern cali

Thanks, I found out that the original 2001 385 hp engine in the car I am buying was replaced to the newer style 405 hp version and only has 24K on that engine so that makes me feel better.

So, ". . . the car I am buying . . ." Does this mean that congrats are in order? If so, let me be the first.
