So I ran out today to the FedEx store to mail something. I parked in an empty area of the parking lot as I normally do. I was inside the store maybe 10 minutes. I come out and find the drivers side of my car scraped up from nose to tail. Every single body panel on that side was damaged.
As I said, there were no other cars around me so I don't see how it could have happened accidentally. The damage started right at the front end and continued all the way down the side all the way to the rear quarter panel. This ******* lined it up and just ran down the side of my car.
There were no cameras pointed at the parking lot so I'm sol for finding the guy. I called the cops and got a police report and I've already been to the body shop. $1700 so this ***** can laugh and tell his buddies what he did.

I'm really sorry for you dude... I know how much work it is to keep one of these things pristine if you drive it... and how picky you have to be keep one nice... and then some a$$ hole jacks it for fun? Hope you get it fixed and looks better than new... damn
That's pretty jacked up. I hope you get a good repair shop and painter, so when it's fixed it's only a bad nightmare and hopefully you'll forget about it in time. Freak'n a$$bite. Thank God it wasn't your Rolls Royce !!
I really find it distressing when I read about things like this happening. My friends ask me why I don't drive my Vette everyday and I tell them, "I love driving it, I'm just afraid to park it anywhere".
I do hope that it looks as good as new after you have had it repaired.
Do you have a photo of the damage? Not sure if I could pull that off if I "tried"? That takes skill to wipe out the whole side in a parking space!
Of course the other night I came up next to a damn pickup truck on the street that had 8" long sharp pointed chrome spikes for lug nuts! Looked like a chariot from Ben Hur designed take out wheels of anything trying to pass it. I stopped short of it and just let people honk at me for not pulling forward and waited for him to take off when the light turned green. Where are the cops? I guess looking for missing front plates?
That's terrible! I think we should bring back the death penalty for people who do stuff like that on purpose. (probably not really, but at the very least 20x punitive damages, so you can own everything they have...)

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. Too bad no cameras were trained on the parking lot so you could have caught the idiot that did that to your car.

If I have to go to the store or where I'm not sure of parking I take my truck !!!!! I did buy the vette to drive and that's what I do with it !!!!! (drive not park) I do take it golfing but it's easy to find a good spot,also I never take 2 spots it does **** people off, always try to find end spot and park at a angle that doesn't take 2 spots. Some people are just asses because they don't have anything nice !!!!!!!

Here's what it looks like. The damage isn't catastrophic. If I had some scratches like this on my truck I may not even get it fixed, but the Corvette was perfect and it needs to be again.
As for the quote, I'm no expert, but $1700 seemed reasonable to me. I don't think anything needs to be replaced, just repaired and repainted.
