Default LMC5 install help *update from previous thread*

Hey everyone so I posted a thread a couple days ago about getting the pull key wait 10sec / service steering column message.
So today I went to install the lmc5 that has been sitting in my glove compartment and I ran into this The previous owner hardwired a radar detector so that's what I'm thinking this is but I can't say for sure. Any suggestions on where to go from here ?

The orange yellow and black wires are a key on accessory harness under the dash.. could have been anything but most likely a radar detector. Not sure on the two purple wires

I would proabably just remove the previous owners wiring and procede with the LMC5 install or just leave it and install the LMC5, it should not interfere with install. Just to make sure contact Richard at compliance (855-565-8388) he will be glad to walk U through it or advise U on what U should do. Any chance U can contact previous owner and make sure that is what the wiring is for. Good luck

If so that is the factory recall mod referred to as the "purple wire and relay mod". Yes that crappy looking wiring job came from parts GM sent to dealers to install.

Back when there was no LMC5 and the CLB was the ONLY game in town for column lock symptom relief you needed to bypass that relay on 99 and 2000 manual trans cars to insure that the CLB would work every time.

NOT necessary to touch that wiring if you are installing an LMC5 as best I understand.
Dude, you pulled that one out of the archives 09 wish I had that good of a memory! Nice!

You are correct it's a manual 2000.
So I should be ok to remove it and install the lmc5 as normal ?
