Hash marks?
Number ten of the Corvette Ten Commandments: "Each and every Corvette is an individual work of art. Judge not, lest you be judged".
No! They started with two identical C4s racing at LeMans. GM added the hash marks to one of them in order to tell them apart.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Ive seen a few nicely modded vettes with them and they looked great , then ive seen them on some not so nicely modded cars and they looked like cheap vinyl stickers.
They are only as good as the car they are going on
I am one who does not like them, but everybody needs to make their car the way they want it.
The first time they appeared on a production Corvette was the 1996 Grand Sport, with twin red hash marks on the left fender. All 1000 Z16 optioned cars had these hash marks.
The next time they appeared on a production Corvette was on the 2010 Grand Sport, but this time they were part of the optional Z15 Grand Sport Heritage Package. On Z15 cars, the hash marks then appeared on both fenders and were available in four different colors (silver, white, red and medium gray I believe). These Grand Sports continued to be offered through the end of C6 production (2013).
A lot of debate on whether or not there will be a C7 GS - I hope they do build one.
There was never a C5 GS from the factory, so I built my own...
