Another trunk lid problem
I'm spending way too much time trying to get my trunk lid to work properly and will sell this car if I can't resolve it. The new problem
is with the electro-mechanical latch, when working properly, makes two sounds in quick succession. Half the time now, it only makes one sound.
then the lid won't close, even when I slam as hard as I can. Eventually,
I will hear that second "sound" and the lid will close. I've spent about 3 hours, replacing the latch, installing new lid struts, and adjusting the latch
in about 100 different positions with the two 10mm bolts. So half the time
the lid won't pop up high enough, and the other half, the lid won't close.
Any thoughts before someone gets a sweet deal on a 1999 converitible?
