You get what you pay for. If you like fixing "junk", have at it!
Actually looks better than the pile of junk '99 I bought a year ago for $7500. We do know that most cherry C5's are well north of 10K. I see this car as something an owner might actually drive and enjoy while investing reasonable amounts over time. Kinda like what I'm doing with mine I guess.
170k? If that was near nc I would check it out for sure. If it drove alright I would be the owner of both a black, and a white c5. Then after cleaning it up there would be a black c5 for sale for 11,000

Agreed. A Vette isn't something you want to skimp on, or you will end up paying more in the long run, and have something that just isn't enjoyable like a Vette should be. The price seems right for 170K miles. Just me, but I certainly wouldn't purchase a Vette with that many miles. Yes, I know maintenance and how well the car is taken care of is actually more important than mileage... But the fact remains, 170K miles is 170K miles. It's most likely going to be tired.
