Hey I just want to see if you guys can give me some advice. So my 1999 corvette is not over heating but the temperature is going up to about 240 when I drive it on the freeway. When I drive on streets and actually slow down, the temperature drops anywhere from 220-230. I replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat and still having the same problem. I took it to get a full diagnostic and they told me it was a blown head gasket. I don't know if that can be right because the car is driving fine, and the oil is not milky at all, and still has the same power. I guess they said the system was pressurized doing 16psi instead of 15. Thanks for any advice.
Temp sending unit could be bad giving inaccurate readings. Temps seem backwards, should read lower temp on freeway than in town. Those temps aren't way out there but much hotter than mine. Mine runs around 196 to 198. Are those temps with air cond. On or off. As u probably know the fans come on when the air conditioner is on and runs cooler. I installed the cool it mod where i can bring the high speed fan on anytime with a fey fob, good for long redlights and parades, etc. Have u checked your fans, are they coming on?

The fans are coming on. I put a lip and took off the air dam, can that be causing a problem?

It very well could be, the air dam directs air up into condensor and radiator area. From all that has been noted, i bet it is either the air dam or air in system or both.
Definitely the lack of an air dam...everyone that removes theirs, is on here with a hot car. Taking it off doesn't improve the looks and it causes problems. Good luck...
I would fix that first and see if it resolves your issue. When driving above 35 mph you are only relying on the air flow being created and not the fans.

When you put on the lip did you remove the Center Air Dam or just the two side deflector dams? The Center Air Dam may need to be there, I don't have either of the side ones and see NO difference in heat.
Well quick update, I finally found an air dam and put it on. And it made a HUGE difference. they temperature doesn't go over about 217 when I'm on the freeway. Thing is that now when I slow down and get on the street it seems to get hotter. Doesn't go up as much as it used to but still about 230. Any idea why?
Perhaps a bad fan relay could be your problem? I know you said you have the fob switch to activate your fans, but maybe they aren't turning on automatically like they should. This has been a problem in every single GM car I've ever owned.
Take a additional step in your process to cure heating issue's by pulling your radiator out and give it a good cleaning, also clean the A/C condenser at the same time. Way to many folks avoid doing this to their Vettes, it's a simple process and takes all of a afternoon to do. You will be amazed as to the amount of crap that gets stuffed into those vanes. Don't try to cheat with air or water wands to clean them, it doesn't work well, roll up the sleeves and 'get'r done'. Lots of threads on this !! Toothbrush and Simple Green worked for me !!
