Hidden Switch
But, I found the dead pedal switch, despite being at the very top of the pedal, was still in the way when I would put my foot there to rest and I'd activate the camera. It's also extremely inconvenient, as I usually have the clutch pushed in when I'm about to park, so that means I have to put the car into neutral, let off the clutch, push the dead pedal button, go back to the clutch, etc. etc.
So, I came up with this.

Well, here's the answer (don't mind the dirty car, she's getting cleaned after all this work is over):

And then this:

Just thought I'd share in case anyone wanted an easy to use hidden switch for something.
How about fixing the switch upright instead such that the shifter shaft pushes against it when in reverse?
Just a thought... if I'm understanding this right, the switch is for the reverse camera to be active for backing up, yes?

I have another camera on the rear of the car that comes on when in reverse; it's powered from the reverse lights.
I guess I just prefer a factory look.

And there' the main reason I'd never bother replacing my stereo; the heater controls to me look very out of place once the radio is updated. I think the area almost looks worse after.
