cancelled the order on the first trans mount... went with the nicer looking, original design by pfadt (afe)
Finally shipped it today, they were waiting on anodizing i guess. My driveshaft will arrive on monday.
Well my rotors are definitely shot. Ordered a full set.
Finally ordered the brass headlight gear kit for my machine gun sounding driver side headlight. GM headlight motors ftw.
Driveshaft came in.
About to pull the trigger on a nitrous setup. Stay tuned.
well didn't come to an agreement with the dude about the NAWS. I found the deal/kit i will go with instead. Waiting to order as it's not needed before i get a retune.
DS finally arrived.
rotors came in
spent my weekend ****ing with the headlight motor / gear rebuild kit then doing front rotors. finally... NO MORE MACHINE GUN SOUNDS when closing my headlight. PITA arts and crafts job. also the loctited nut sheared a hinge bolt because im lazy and didnt light it all on fire to get rid of the residue in the threads. Of course it was a special shank/bushing bolt.... luckily found something sort of suitable at ace until i find someone with an actual replacement.
GM engineering at it's finest:
cant wait to redo i/c piping.
the zinc still hasn't come all the way off. i beat on the brakes for about 45 mins last night bedding them in... not completely done yet i guess.

is that a 3" driveshaft?... I'm assuming so since I see a solid coupler laying next to it and as far as I know the 3.5" they now offer doesn't use couplers anymore... I believe their older version accepted couplers... I just got a 3" dss driveshaft as well and it's just sitting here waiting to go back in as soon as my trans builder gets done... what trans/diff are you running again?
yes it is a 3" dss ds. 1 solid coupler for the rear. either rpm poly or oem poly will be in the front. Driveshaft shop said this one is good for over 1000whp and they haven't seen any break. Fingers crossed!

yeah I don't think I will ever push mine to 1k or more but the stock one is dinky, it's like a chain link fence post lol... is your trans a 27 or 30 spline mainshaft?... wondering if it was a base 6060 that was built or if they used a 08+ z06/zr1 6060 and had the pinion resplined in the diff to make it work... you plan on upgrading the diff as well?
100% agree. Stock driveshaft is puny and doesn't look like it can handle 500 rwhp launches let alone 900+.
i am not sure! I bought the car with the tr6060 in it. I have the receipt from RPM though.... $6k for tqtube rebuild, install and the trans. I assume it is an upgraded 30 spline, fit to the diff but I do not know for sure . The receipt didn't go into detail. I wish it did, i want to know what was involved to mate the tr6060 with the c5z diff.
Yes i am going to do a built diff, just waiting for funds to replenish
The car chose next piece to the puzzle.
You get zero notice that your main fuel pump is about to die lol. My drive home from work tuesday turned into a detour, on the bed of a tow truck.
Luckily it's a magnafuel... and they rebuild them for free. Just have to pay them for the parts... $80 for a virtually new pump isn't bad.
Already shipped the bitch out to them. The wait is the killer since it's my only car... was hoping it was a relay or ground issue so i could have it wrapped up same day. This is going to cost me a week of Uber rides.... Luckily thanksgiving is coming and i'm off thursday and fri next week.
Plan to find an actual daily in January after this. Modded cars are not dd's.
