02 z06, boosted. Build/update thread
...It made xxx (edit)rwhp previously, on e-85 with the current setup.
I have plans for her, but the heavy stuff will be later this year/next year.
For right now/soon- a little cleaning up to start with and a Fasterproms re-tune since Jeremy is here in Tampa too.
Update:
Junker finally showed up from Texas- absolutely filthy too. Mandatory wash soon after unloading it (which was a nightmare by the way with the trailer).

What the heck is this!!? i didn't notice when i was in texas but two owners ago removed the clean z06 emblem to put this on there.... it hasnt been supercharged in 3-4 years lol.

Before shots of the *** before she gets a makeover with my own taste.

another nice ***

time for some updates i guess:

after powder coat:

Pile i started with:

grabbed some original emblems to make it stealthier

Drivers seat was in rough shape. Wasn't comfortable at all so I rebuilt this one with a couple kits made for the c5. Came out pretty good... staying like this until i need a seat for safety purposes in which case its coming out anyways.

cracked:

Quick pad change, fronts were toast. Went with stoptech street pads.... i like them a lot for $55 shipped!

After a wax... not bad:

these werent cutting it:

Im going to have two sets of rear wheels and tires i guess

decided on these and ordered. i have a feeling the dremel is coming out to fit them lol

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Made an aux port to go with the stock stereo. It's hidden and fully functional... best mod for $4 and some time.

Also switched out two broken headlight pieces from p/o so i could get my drivers headlight cover to sit properly and not shake when raised up.

you can see the broken mounting tab in this picture.

look what i found under the headlight, i thought my car had a cold or something....

saw this s13 on the road yesterday. it was so low it looked like the exhaust was scraping on the road... lol
Wanted to check out the catch can and see if the last owner ever emptied it.... I guess not! Bitch was full. So i cleaned her out nice and deep.
yummy

clean

tires came in so i did a final test fit of the billet wheels so i could drop them off for powder coat today.
also got the correct lug nut style.

big *** fuel lines / pumps behind the wheel

Have not decided what to run for skinnies yet. Will be GTO spares with bias ply front runners or i will order the matching street lites. The Billets are $575 each since they are one-piece wheels

update:
last weekend, it was finally dry saturday night.... so everyone went out.

Downshift to get ready to go.... blew charge pipe off. No idea how it picked that time to blow off.... drove it for 3 weeks before like that
. No boost = got RAPED by grtwhit (the view above) lol. Limped home. Then more rain for a week....On the way home friday night from work.... going 45mph in 6th... hydroplaned. I knew i should have taken a different road but figured i may be fine.... WRONG. Thought for sure i was going to hit a car or guardrail while i was spinning..... just keep turning into the direction it was going and managed to not hit anything. /luck

Ordered street tires that night (lol) and worked on getting the m&h's to fit on Saturday.

bald *** nittos + rain = going to have a BAD TIME!

True 28"

first attempt at making them fit, removed brake duct and cut a big hole in the liner:

was too close to rubbing the liner at 1 mph... and wheel contacted knuckle at 1 part..... attempt 2 at fitting them worked.
cut all of the liner off towards the front. Ground the knuckle down a touch:

over fenders in my future for sure. way in the future though. Good news is that I floored it on low boost and it hooked up easily. That was goal #1 with new rear wheels....

repainted the front grills, p/o didn't do it properly and they were chipped.

Had the shop balance all 6 wheels/tires this weekend too, she's driving well now. Especially with the alignment
They did uncover that one of my new billets is already slightly bent which is producing a vibration at high speeds... gotta source a local place to get it round and good to go again. Bummer! I suspect it was done during shipping then exaggerated as ive been driving on it.
DMV ****ed me hard on the FSU plate deal. They took my other fsu plate (that ive been using) and transferred it to the custom plate. Instead of taking my other registration i had available, with no plate, they used the one i actually use. Didn't ask or antyhing, just decided to **** me. Of course they wont put it back in the system, even though it was their fault.... so now i have a plain jane florida tag. I really dislike the new fsu plate that much lol.

looks goofy to me now with normal 18" tires.

... it's gonna suck if you want to have fun but can't get any power to the ground, I don't think I could do it... sucks about your plate too
... I paid 5 years for the one I have and thought about changing it and I asked them about it and they said I can't but they would be glad to sell me a new one and I can use the old one as a decoration, ummmm no thanks!
Yes the plate ordeal is a giant scam. They can sell me a new plate but can't type the plate that is currently on my car back in the system..... MMM okay!
