Default Automatic C5

Quick question here guys. I have an automatic c5 and its fast off a roll but I am wondering if anyone ever uses the ratchet style shift with the 321? I want to hover the rpm's and then get on it, but I am worried the car wont shift when I move up a gear. Does the car really shift when you shift or is there a limiter still? Just a question. Thank you

I never manually shift my A4 - haven't seen the need to do so. I would think performance would be better leaving it in drive and going from there. If you don't like where the tranny is shifting now, you may be able to get the car tuned where the shift points are more to your liking.

I use manual shifting on mine most of the time particularly if I am doing some spirited driving, I just like to be in control of when the shifts occur.

mph and rpm and throttle percentage parameters must be met before it will shift. it's all set in the pcm. you can manually shift. but until those parameters are met, it will not shift.
