I have TC and it will spin the tires on a wet road or loose gravel.
TC is just that, it is supposed to keep the wheels from spinning. I know you won't, but if you do not turn off the TC in the vette and hammer it it will not spin the wheels. Turn it off and it will. They put it in all the newer car to help traction in the snow and slick condition. If the traction control allowed you to spin the wheels I would think something was wrong.

The engine was overpowering the brakes. Perhaps TC wasn't working as well as it did when new, but that was kind of my point.
Try putting yours to the floor on loose gravel and tell me if the tires spin.
Hey guys! I'm quite new to the Corvette world, and I'm quite new to the forums.
I go on YouTube and search "corvette fails", or something of that nature to remind me not to be irresponsible and make a fool out myself out on the roads. I also take note on why half of the stuff occurs within the videos. There is something that still boggles me though, and it seems to happen with many Corvettes in those videos (not all, but many).
Why does the rear-end fishtail all of a sudden and the driver loses total control most of the time? They end up crashing into something and totaling a beautiful Corvette. Like I said, we got a 'vette and it's a 1997 C5. It's pretty much stock other than cosmetic mods.
I love my Corvette, but I need to remind myself not to be a fool on the streets. I take notes and try to be a better person behind the wheel, yet I question that one issue and I have no idea why it occurs. Someone have an idea? Am I missing simple details? Someone educate this youngin' here!
The Corvette is a Hot Rod over powered and light ,that's why we like the thing.. Corvette people like them cause over powered and light .Educate OK reading books well might help a little if you want to learn to drive the beast find a Autocross event going in your area and give it a shot don't have to be Jonny racer but that will help you understand the fell of the thing ,start slow and go work you way faster that will be a big help . I can remember with I got in my first Corvette 1965 it was OMG ,Do yourself and the other people on the road a favor learn how to drive it and it's way more fun if you do ..
The TV will stop your wheels from spinning. If your rear end is going out from under you then your TV is not working. I personally hate the TV in my Vette, it's way to jerk when it kicks in. I turn mine off as soon as I start the car. Although I'm very experienced and know how much power I'm giving the car, take into consideration the road conditions and so if the rear end comes out on mine it's because I want it to...that being said, I take most all corners sideways!!!
