The "unmentioned" issue is parts availability for C5 vs. C6. Some C5 parts are now unobtainable, and that situation will not improve. C6 parts will be around for longer. I have a '98 C5, which I will probably keep for a while longer (coming up on 80k miles, had it from new), but as soon as it looks like things are really starting to go wrong, I will get rid of it. Probably not get much for it either, but that's life. Fact is, I spend money on my house and land these days more than cars.

No way. Keep your car and make a new mod to renew your love affair. IMHO, the C6 is ugly. I've got my '03 Z06 almost where I want it and I still think it's gorgeous. Many people think it is a new car. Maybe you need new shiny wheels, the black fad is over anyway. It will give your car a totally new look. Maybe some polished CCW's. My car BTW has 135k miles and is not for sale.
