Default NEWB performance upgrade question right here!

2004 automatic that made 372 rwhp and 352 torque (104 degree texas heat) on the dyno at sunshine performance in killeen, tx.

What it has
Cam ( i did not have it put in so i know nothing about it)
long tube headers
cat delete
Vararam
underdrive pulley
exhaust
18 inch rims
MSD plug wires
professional tune
everything else i assume is stock. I bought the car about a week ago.

I have a wife, kids, mortgage, and all that stuff so my goals have to come in stages. My first goal is 400 rwhp. Eventually I would like to get a Texas speed long block and a porcharger, but thats just a dream at this point. My buddy has a cobra that put down 526 rwhp, and talks a lot of smack, so ultimately driving by him is my goal. I feel like if i can get within 100 hp of him i could have a chance. So please make any suggestions, or let me know how you achieve similar goals.

Here is what i expect to do next. in no particular order, except gears will be next.

3.73 gears
LS6 intake manifold
MSD ignition and coils
36# injectors
upgraded fuel rail
TB and MAS upgrade
Torque converter with stall
stock 241 heads port and polished

So please let me know if i am on the right track. Suggest brands, Specs, where you would focus your money, how you achieved your performance goals, ECT.....

You already have the LS6 manifold on the car.

I thought i read somewhere on this forum that it was a cheap upgrade. But thanks, that shows how much of a newb i am. This is my first LS1 car. I was previously a mustang guy, but now i am all in on the Vette. So there will be a learning curve.

Yeah its a 2010-2014 cobra. I figure with that much HP, and street tires he would smoke the tires, then there is always the possibility of missing a gear. But i still would like to gain some RWHP on him. His cobra has bout 600 lbs on the Vette.

Good call and congrats on your new ride

My buddy has a new GT with the racing package so 430hp. So 80+ hp on my stock C5 but I'm all over him from a stop.. He was so sad after dropping $50k on his car he is looking at superchargers lol

If he does that I'm just going to get 100 shot of NOS ( ;
