Ive already pulled my Climate control out of the car and taken it apart. Tried to solder it myself and that didnt work out very well with my gun. So is there anyone local or close by who can do this for me? I dont want to reinstall it with the lights out still and waste my time. Plus it erks me not being able to see whats going on.
Any help would be Great. Im located in Raleigh NC and can travel or ship the board off.

If your gun is a Weller 100/140W or similar, I'd say it's way too big. I used a Weller 25W soldering pencil on my climate controls and it worked fine. Or is the problem a lack of soldering experience?

If you can't get it done, either by you or someone local, try contacting JW Motoring (forum vendor). I think they still do LED conversions/solder repairs.
My climate control lights have been out since I got the Vette.
The only one that has a light is the led on the screen that shows the temperature.
Is there a fuse that controls these lights, and if so which one would it be?
Ive got lights out on mine and also the Screen is out or dim most of the time. The type i used was the pencil type. Didnt work well because i couldnt control the temp.
Trid just touching up the stock contact points. But the gun would go from perfect temp to to hot to quick.
The bulbs are incandescent so if one is out it is surely the bulb. If they are all out then I suspect the internal board is bad. No fuse just for the lights.
A good replacement bulb is 272-1092 from Radio Shack. Two for about $3.
The way to solder the resistors is to hold the resistor in place with something like a pencil eraser so it does not move, they are just surface mounted. Having someone to do that helps. Get the pencil solder iron hot and put a very small dab of solder on it and then just touch a solder point just briefly enough to heat the joint and add a bit of solder.
Daves Corvette Illuminations. He is in Atlanta. He will fix the dim display plus fix the selector button lights as well. You can choose what color lights you want. Red blue green white amber pink. Has done two for me. Next day turn around also. Very good guy to deal with. Web address is www.davescorvetteilluminations.com

How far are you from Myrtle Beach Dadaroo? Id pay you to do it if you want. I have to come down that way sometime soon anyway to Get fireworks for our 4th of July.
I am about 2 hours from Myrtle Beach in the center of SC. Unfortunately this is a bad time for me as my biggest client just hit me up for a project. If you can't get one of the vendors to do it then maybe you could mail it to me to do.
Looks like a good option for repair and reasonable price.
Do you need the info on getting to the unit? If you have a manual shift car you do not have to remove the boot and shift ****. If you need that info also let me know.
No ive already got it out and apart Dadaro. But thank you. Tried Soldering it myself already and after two sqaures i quit! Soldering circuit boards is Not something im interested in learning how to do properly!
another option is to find a local electronic repair place show them the topic about where to solder and let them to it, that way your car will be back together and no wait time

That was my first thought. But I couldnt figure out where to take it. Even posted on a local forum. One of the vette guys there said he had done it before and would do mine. But I havent heard a peep out of him after that.
