lol guys older lady just psycho. No I purchased my car 2 years ago from a couple in Dallas that they had purchased for Corvette Warehouse. This lady has never had a corvette. She is just captivated with the car and is just crazy. The only logical explanation is that somehow she gained access to my apartment and stole my spare apartment key(which mysteriously came up missing a month ago). So she has been coming in and out of my apartment while Im at work. The locks are changed now so that has been shut down.
Go to Walmart and by a trail cam... park your car somewhere that it would be advantageous to using the cam to get good pics of the culprit...
be creative setting up the cam so he will have no clue your using it... then nail his a$$
Very Weird Situation. But there are crazy people everywhere, no matter where you live.
And as an onsite property manager, and Corvette driver, I feel like it is my duty to further comment on a couple of the remarks in this thread. Crazy people live everywhere. Doesn't matter if it's an apartment complex or a gated community with $600,000 homes. If a thief wants what you have, it truly doesn't matter where you live or what you do to stop them. There are criminals that go through neighborhoods (homes and apartments) and check to see if front doors, car doors, etc. are left unlocked. Crime is everywhere.
Ok, let me climb off my soapbox now
Good luck with any further developments in the situation.
Just a thought, aftermarket security systems for cars are not that much anymore and many of the newer ones have a two way function that sends an alert to the alarm fob if a sensor or door has been activated.
A very long time ago I use to install add on pagers for car security that if the alarm sounded it would relay a page through the cars antenna. The thief wouldn't have that fob. (I use to also hook up air horns as a stage two alarm if the horn was going off and the dome light came on)
I also 2nd the suggestion for a trail cam or another option would be those inexpensive IP cameras
If you park next to a window or something it can monitor through the glass and send you a picture text on your smart phone if there is motion - as well as record video.
thanks everyone for the suggestions. I am in the process of buying a trail cam and setting it up. for the last few days no probs so far but I still have to get evidence of her so I can press charges.
he knows someone at a chevy parts department who can make keys using vin. If not you have to show proof that the car is yours like an insurance card. He might have got creative and did it from his computer and got duplicate key made
This lady is obviously crazy. If she thinks it's her car, ask her to show a document in her name she has with the VIN number.
Another reason why you should hide your VIN number.
