Default C5 VFN Sunoco Hood experience

Hey guys,
I figured I'd share my experience with my VFN Sunoco hood to cover my giant Holley hi-ram and YSI.
I ordered the bolt on version and I had them have it go over the cowl up to the windshield. Its approx. 6" at its highest and 3.5" at the back. It took 7 weeks but its nice and I was amazed at the fitment. The gaps were must better than anticipated and overall quality of the hood.
I had to trim off some all across the back of the hood where it meets the windshield so it'd fit lower on the car and of course to make sure there is a gap between the hood and the glass.

Here is a picture of it all bolted up and latched

Next step is to find out if that monster intake will fit under it..... Stay tuned.

Does look like it fits the car well. Would like to see pics of the hood in a finished state.

Yep completely impressed with the fitment, no other updates on the hood, still in black gelcoat but will work on the paint soon.

Only issue I had is the big snorkel intake rubbed and the top of the radiator support rubbed the inside of the hood and had to make notches in it but only in the bottom layer, not through the top, that make sense?

I like the hood a lot. I am sure a 1/4 mile car will take it A track
car the areo is compensated (my thought). I tried to get the big
holley on my car but I felt it was going to be to high and I ended
up with a MSD. HOTROD rated the big holley #1. MSD #3.

I know this is an old thread. But I just purchased a Sunoco high-rise cowl bolt on Hood. And I'm running a Holley EFI cathedral intake that sticks through the hood and I was wondering if you had any issues with the clearances. Thank you I'm in Georgia

Yes, it's an old thread and the OP hasn't been on this site, in almost four years.
