Just checked. 4352's where in it. I purchased new Phillips 4352 sealed beams off ebay for $6.00 each. Pulled the bulb elements and retro fit the 9005 ultras into the housings. Made a big difference. If these 65w 9011 HIR's are even better then that will be great. I will do a comparison between the two and let you know.

I just looked at that link plus I went to PIAA's site and a couple others. Each individual bulb has 60w of power. They are sold in a twin pack making it 120w total. ie 60w/120w. Pretty sure about this. I will call PIAA tomorrow to confirm. So with that being the case the 9011HIR's being 65W each giving me a total of 130 watts of light will be my better choice.

You are reading more into than what's written. It doesn't say 2x60=120. It says 60=120. I'm sure about this because I talked to PIAA when i had issue with these breathless lights. I'll requote from the website.

Technology is achieved when a proprietary gas mixture is combined with an aerospace alloy filament that produces greater light output than its rated power consumption: i.e. 55W = 110W
Plus my own personal experience with PIAA lights when i had them 10 years ago.

Glad to hear the 9005 ultras put out more. They must have a higher intensity output than the 55 watts energy consumption.

I just ordered two Toshiba 9011 HIR1 bulbs. These where the only true HIR bulb. I'm lucky to have found them as they are no longer being made. They put out more light than any of the 9005 bulbs. Here is a write up on them. Very interesting.

Well after doing more research Phillips has bought the rights to this technology and produces the 9011 HIR1 and 9012 HIR2 bulbs. Suppose to have upgraded the technology and obtained 10% more light output over the Toshiba's. I will see.how much more light I get over my 9005 ultras.

The ones I put in my wife's Subie were the Philips versions - Toshiba are not making them anymore. Luckily, I visit Rockville, MD fairly regularly, so I just stop in to Candlepower and pick up what I need. Like 28w bulbs in my Adjure unit so I can see behind me when it is really dark - as it is out here in the boonies. OEM back up lights are basically useless.

Thanks for the lead on the 9011 HIR1 bulbs. I found one set of the Toshiba's on ebay. I bought those then had read an article where Phillips had bought the rights to the technology from Toshiba and have improved the lights and gained 10.8% light output from the Toshiba's. Going to install these and may order a set of the Phillips later. I looked on ebay at the Phillips and there is a B1 and C1 9011 HIR1. Didn't know what the difference was.

The bumper cover is a stock oem C5 front fascia. I shaved the front filler cover then I bought the center section from a wrecked 2008 Z06. Cut the needed section out of the C5 fascia and epoxied the C6 Z06 scoop in place and worked it in. The scoop is non functional for now. Once all the finishing bodywork was done it mounts up just the same as normal. I have a MCM carbon fiber hood and had to pull the lines from the scoop and work them into the lines of the hood. The inner upper bumper support where the plastic rivets pop into had to be trimmed about 1/4" where the scoop is to allow the grill insert to snap in. I also added a functional lower air inlet to pull more air to the radiator. That took a lot more work than the Z06 scoop. I also added the C6Z06 rear brake scoops into my L5 rear quarters. They are totally functional utilizing the factory C6Z06 inserts and brake air ducts. I love the look of the C5 and wanted to keep the characteristics of the generation but was wanting something a little more aggressive and different, so I took what I liked the most from the C6Z06 and worked it into mine. It worked out to my likes and satisfaction.

I'd like to have one of those for my C5.

If you get the parts I can work the scoop in. I have family that lives just outside of Augusta. Used to work in Martinez years ago. Still have a few friends there.

Default Loving this thread. More Bulb technology for me too.

I'm glad I was able to start you on your course with the bulbs.
And that fascia of yours is GREAT.
'For Now' I'm settling for the bulbs I have.
But eventually, I'm sure I'm headed out to check out these Phillips bulbs.

Thanks again Art. Your recommended upgrade was well worth the extra work. I will let you know how the new bulbs compare. Beautiful vette. The Breathless lights really compliment the looks.

I bought them new for 1350.00. I do like the design and how they look. If they would have come with the PIAA driving lights as advertised, you wouldn't need the 4 on harness. Ernie from breathless racing did compensate me for the misadvertisment. The low beams are actually high beams sealed bulbs for a 93-97 camaro.
How bout some pics of your car with your lights. Love to see more vettes with these lights.

Yup. Jeaslousy was eating me alive! Actually I have been looking at these for about 2 years. I have been concentrating on my wide body and suspension/brake upgrades. Couldn't fit these in the budget quite yet. You made the right choice going with the C7 ZR spoiler. When I was compairing the different companies that make this spoiler C7's was the only one that actually followed the contour of the edge on the rear bumper plus it is actually a little longer. If you look at a straight on side shot of each one you will see the major difference between the C7 and the rest. The reason I like the Breathless over the radio flyers is the bezel. I know radio flyers may have better light output but the Breathless bezel to me seems to compliment the front better because of the deeper recessed area in front of the lights. Plus the square light combined with the oval high beam fits well with the era of the car, especially how they styled the bezel around them. Dont get me wrong I do like the radio flyer lights, just prefer the over all look of these better.

Finally recieved the 4 on relay harness from Breathless. Wired it in last night. Very simple install. Got to try them out this morning on the way to work. All I can say is WOW! Major improvement. I was lighting up the night. Should receive the 9011HIR bulbs for my low beams today. If they work as well as the reviews I should be very satisfied. May see if I can fit them in my fogs and do away with the HID bulbs and ballast. I will retro my Avalanche with them as well. I'm tired of the HID's not working the way they should. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't. Ballast going out.

The high beam lights, are they PIAA? My pilot light high beams suck *****. I pulled the multifunction switch back to turn on all four and made no difference.

First pic is low beam. Second is high.

I belive so. My low beams are actually as bright as the highs. With the 4 on harness the extra illumination with all four on was a noticeable difference. I will post some pics this evening with the lights on high and lows. I have the 9005 ultras in the lows right now. After I install the 9011 HIR bulbs in the lows I will post illumination pics of those.
