2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (performance mods)
C5 of Year Winner (performance mods) 2019
I have wanted to do one of these events just to see what my car would do... the ones I have seen locally are rolling starts, I don't think I have seen any go from a stop around my area... even a 3/4 or full mile would be cool, it would be sweet to be able to get out of 4th and stay in it

That day definetly has me interested in more track events and maybe a road course.

a road course would be fun but my car isn't really set up for that and wouldn't be practical in that situation anyway... it would be perfect for a roll race event though

It's a built LS6 at 12lbs of boost with an A&A Vortech V3 Si-Trim, Longtubes, B&B Bullet cat back, and Speed Inc SI2 blower cam. With these mods it's at 638rwhp.
Here is a video at 10lbs of boost and OEM cam and OEM bottom end, where it put down 572rwhp. I let me buddy in his 08 C6 get 4sec to go after I saw green, then put my foot down.
Here is a view from his bumper cam. I pull away at the start, but missed 3rd gear and put it in 5th instead. Had to yank it back out, put it in 3rd, then hit it again.

I'm right next to you in glenside and was wondering the same thing. It would be cool if they had events like that at willing Grove air base since it's pretty much closed now.

These events seem to be growing in popularity...One of our "local" guys pulled off a 202mph and got off the throttle way before the finish line since he needed more shut down room

The U.S. Air National Guard Base is a Military Air feild in Battle Creek MI. It's about an hour from my home. The organization who held it is ''SPEEDFEST''. Your car has to go through a quick Tech inspection and you need a helmet/long pants/long sleeve shirt/gloves. Some of those items depend on speed I think(first time), because I brought all the above except a helmet (borrowed one) and we ran shorts and short sleeve shirts and helmet and they were fine with that. Sunny and86 that day.

Not any more. That's the one I always went to. They lost the airport venue last year and never found a new location. It was hosted by WannaGoFast.
Omega Motorsports has stepped up and are doing a new event (new to this area) somewhere around Bloomington in October. Specific details so far have been sketchy at best.

Ran my lightly moded 99 yesterday for the first time. Ran 137mph. They didnt have times recorded, but was wondering what you guys thought about the mph comparied to the distance. A C5 Z06 ran 139mph & C7 was also running 137mph. I thought those two cars would be faster than that. what do you think.
