Default 1/2 mile Run - 137mph ?

Ran my lightly moded 99 yesterday for the first time. Ran 137mph. They didnt have times recorded, but was wondering what you guys thought about the mph comparied to the distance. A C5 Z06 ran 139mph & C7 was also running 137mph. I thought those two cars would be faster than that. what do you think.

Must have been that fresh coat of wax you put on it along with driver skill.

137 seems pretty respectable to me, hope you had fun.

My c5z did 142mph(LT's/intake/tune- 393rwhp). I try to get to the 1/2mi events once or twice a year...great time!

Thanks, I didn't know what to expect. I was happy though
I thought for sure the C7 and C5 ''Z'' would blow me out of the water by at least 10 mph or so. I'm at 347 rwhp right now with XS Power headers/CAI/Tune/B&M shifter.. Time to look for that next upgrade to get me in the 140's

For the mods you have on the car, I'd say that is a very good MPH you ended up with.

Thx, I had some serious fun..
We had a ZR1 hit 153mph, and a GTR hit 181mph(major mods)
That was awesome to see..

Last season, a stock c5z with hoosier R6 did 139, so 137 is pretty respectable!

I find it hard to believe a C7 only did 137 in the 1/2 mile... I would have expected over 140 (they really seem to pick up speed past the 1/4 mile, more so than a C5Z). I'm guessing perhaps it was an M7, and the owner was short shifting it?

Either way, for your mods, 137 is fantastic. What were you shifting at?

Man I run the rpms right up to 5500. I wish I could post my video, I tried couple times but can't get it to load.

just out of curiousity, if you reached 137 in a half-mile, do you know what speed it hits in the 1/4-mile?

I'm not sure. But 95rtturbo might be close. I thought 115-120. I wish they would of had the 1/4 at least marked out. I know there's a lot of variables when it comes to the track- driver/car setup/tranny/tires ect.ect. Tell you what, going all out full throttle for half mile without worrying about a ticket is the best.

I'm in Philadelphia and never heard of a 1/2 mile track near me. I'dlove to do something like that and really stretch its legs without worrying about flashing lights.

If someone knows of something like this remotely near me please let me know. !!

Was that Deb Lowe's red ZR1 you are talking about? She posted some videos on the BAMF Nation Facebook page.
Here is a pic just after she ran 150 on July 5 at Battle Creek Michigan 1/2 mile. When she bought this car new she did not even know how to drive a stick shift! The salesman at the dealer blew her off and thought she wasn't serious about buying the car. She went to another Chevrolet dealer - they had the very same car shipped to their dealership and sold it to her. Some people!
