Default Sway Bar Install

I own a YR 2000 vette and trying to replace the rear sway bar and end links

Below is a picture of the left rear end link - When I try to remove the lower end link using a 18MM socket on the back, it just spins - Does the end of the bolt have some kind of cover I need to pry off?

It's been over a year since I installed my sway-bars....

You need to peel back the rubber on the joint - there are flats machined into the joint to hold it with an open ended wrench while you crank down the nut.

For the more faint of heart, there is a star fitting in the threaded side too. Seemed a little too dainty for me.

On the end of the threaded side there is either a female torx or hex. You can hold it from turning with that while you use a box end wrench on the nut.

I did several of them and it seems like some used a hex and others used a torx, but I don't remember which years were which.

Good luck.
