I am in the market for a magnetic red/shale 2003 convertible. I have been reading as much as possible on this car but would appreciate any pros or cons moving forward and what " must" have options. I am looking to keep this car for sometime and looking for a clean car- title etc. Please advise what "pitfalls" to look for during my search. I think that the C5's are classy but don't want to get burned on not knowing what to look for . A Corvette has been my dream car for over 40 years ! Thanks for your help.

While it is not 50th anny specific here is a good link to read through about what to look for in a C5:

And if it is a true anniversary red 50th anniversary edition car, it comes with pretty much every option you can get on the car. IMO, it is one of the best looking color combos that came on the C5s.
The Anniversary Edition is "Anniversary Red" instead of Magnetic red, and it comes with F55 MSRC suspension and almost everything else you can get. It is a 1SC package that retailed for $5K extra. Your only choices were body side moulding and transmission choice. Be careful to check, because a lot of 2003's are advertised as anniversary editions that aren't. They will all be the same color and the dash and doors will be shale. Other 2003's will have black dash and upper door panels. They are beautiful cars and good luck with the hunt.
We bought a 2003 50th Anniversary Convertible two months
ago. Wonderful car and very easy to raise or lower the convertible top. The major choices you will have to make if you want a 50th Anniversary car are:
A) Coupe or Convertible. Convertibles will typically command
a higher price,
B) Automatic or 6 Speed Manual transmission.
Other than the two choices above; all 50th Anniversary Corvettes
have the same options.

The 50th Anniversary is one I'm looking at too because I've always loved that color combo! The only question I have for those of you that own one, is how difficult is it to keep that interior clean and looking pristine?

Depends on what dirty things you do in it. I've had two (and a Commemorative 2004 with same interior). None have been hard to keep clean. If you're going to haul dirty things, or dirty dogs, or greasy parts, maybe look at black.
I had no problem keeping the interior clean. I did use a clear plastic mats over my floor mats. I now have a black interior and the dust drives me crazy. Also the lighter color top was way easier to take care of than the black I have now. Always using a lint roller on it.
I just love my 50th anniversary. its a convertible with automatic.
all stock except took out cd changer in trunk and put in media adapter .
with all the options it has it's a great car for the money.
I looked for months to find it and if I remember correctly I purchased it from 6genvettes in florida. I think I bought it 3 or 4 years ago.
Flew from nj to fla to pick it up and drove it home. Had 9k on it then, have 16k on it now.
the color combo is priceless and it handles like a dream.
good luck in your search
