So as I am getting ready to leave for work this morning I open the garage door to bring out the garbage and just had to pause for a few minutes and take in the sight. My 04 Z06 is not a DD and only gets used on weekends. But being that it has been a life long dream to have a corvette (and I have been blessed this is my 3rd one) just having it in the garage to tinker with is my stress reliever.
Beautiful car. I understand the sentiment completely. I'm constantly peeking out in the garage to admire my Z, especially after it's freshly washed and waxed. Only thing better is driving it. Weekend warrior here as well.

My 04Z (also black on black) is my DD, so every morning when I go into the garage it's to drive it! I enjoy my drive every day, particularly on the way home (I tend to keep it lower in the morning as I start work at 7AM, and drive thru many residential areas on the way here).
Have fun, drive it often!
Nice garage BTW, mine is a squeeze! My narrow door at 1-2" from my passenger mirror gets me around 4-5" from my DS mirror, and just about as cramped inside.
Im glad you are able to enjoy yours like many of us do. Mine is not a dd either, however mine is a reminder of what hard work and responsibilities can produce for me and my wife to enjoy.
we don't have kids , so our toys/hobbies are something we really value as well.
Anyone that says otherwise is either mad, or jealous!!! LOL
I have twin boys who just got their Driver's license at age 17. My mom gave them her Infiniti because she is too old to drive anymore. I gave the other son my Toyota DD. The wife insisted I buy a nice car because I deserved it.. Porsche? Mustang? Corvette? I always love the Corvette although I've been a Ford man all my life and have owned several street rods. I purchased the Corvette about a week ago and both I and wife love it. BTW, the boys aren't driving it! The Corvette is garaged, but it's my DD now. I'm 5 miles from work each way and get to park it in a Police station parking lot with cameras and people who carry guns everywhere. Guess what my stress reliever is after getting off my shift??

Beautiful Corvette! I drive my '02 Coupe to work regularly, and I've never walked away without looking back for one last glimpse, so I understand how you feel.
Sometimes we all should be more appreciative of our lives and what we have been given. That being said we all have our own challenges to deal with.
For example, i have the problem of attempting to refinish my targa top this week (sanding and clear coat done...wet sand and polishing next..)...and my brother in law has the problem of just getting notice that he is heading back to the Middle East for his 3rd tour of duty in the army.

I know exactly what you mean. My wife and I have no kids, just cats, and have spent a life of working hard, paying our bills and being good citizens. My Dad had a 67 when I was a kid and some of my best memories with him include that car. At one point about 5 years ago had 2 vettes in the garage, but now just one but it is my medicine.
Agree w/your sentiments! Mine is a garage queen & even though I have a car cover I don't use it so I can enjoy looking at my vette whenever I'm in my garage. Great looking vette you have & thank you for your work you do for us!

Completely agree. I too am on my third Vette. After selling the 69, I thought I'd never be able to own another. What a thrill it is to be back in one, but a C5 makes it even better. Three years after buying it, I still go into the garage and just admire it. YUP, Live is good.
