Default Impressive Half a$$ job...

Well I was insulating the rear inner fender wells... and ran out of material...got the drivers side finished... SO I drove the car to town 25 miles away on TERRIBLE roads and was shocked at how much quieter the drivers side was than the passenger side...WOW
The usual thump, thump, thump, where they have cracks and have poured tar in the cracks was WAY quieter on the drivers side... barely audible...while the UN-insulated side sounded even LOUDER now I guess because the other side was SO much quieter... The usual whine on concrete pavement was pretty much gone on the drivers side... but, she was whistling away on the passenger side...
Back home and now doing the passenger side... I already know HOW much difference it's going to make so it's making enduring the heat and doing the job MUCH easier....
If you've been putting this MOD off or just doing the INSIDE of the car... DON'T put it off anymore... I have completely covered the inside of some cars with Dynamat and it does help a LOT... but, nothing I've ever done to a Corvette has helped as much as SOUND DEADENING the rear inner fender wells...

From the time I posted this thread to this edit, I did the right side...

If you haven't done this Jack... it is a simple, easy, quick, MOD and I think you'd be impressed ...

Fixin to take a 3 day cruise to Mt Magazine in Arkansas and drive the wheels off this 04 Vert... was motivation for getting it done... I'll report the long term results...

Looks good. I am happy that it meets your expectations. I went another route. Purchase a Partition from a CF vendor supporter and together with the Magna Flow exhaust (very quiet), it is virtually silent in my vert.

I too have a Partition but it didn't help enough. At speed with the radio on I had to up my voice to any passenger. Now at 70mph, windows down, radio blasting I can speak normal. Huge difference!

This was on my to do list for the end of my vacation except I will use Peel N Seal from home depot. Only 16 bucks a roll. Here is some pics I have of the whole inside.

After fully insulating my interior, adding a partition and Lloyd's trunk mat, I finally covered my rear well liners with Second Skin sound deadening stuff (similar to Dynamat). That made more of a difference to my 'vert than the other 3 put together. Well worth the effort.

Always interesting to see how others enjoy the car. I only use acoustic treatments at home to help playback sound quality. To me , the car sounds like a car, I never even considered the noise level in any way.

The death rattle is what bugged me. crappy gm plastic isn't holding up after all these years. other then that I dont care because the sub and blower is music to my ears but it's tough listening to the car sound like a old worn bed from the 70's

I measured the location of the foam so I could get it back where it was, fitting them back in was a little tight but they went back in ok.
