Do you realize that distracted driving is now killing more innocent people than drunk driving?!?!?!?

Turn it off and pay attention to your driving!!!!!

Cup holder works for me.The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

In the C5, I removed the rubber liner form the POS factory cup holder, and put a disk in there.
Then I mounted this to the disk:

It works great, and all you need to do is basically throw the phone at it and it sticks. No pesky arms/springs to deal with.

If you are planning on talking into the phone in that thing, there can be a lot of wind noise from the AC vent that gets into the phone, so you have to remove it from there anyway. If you want to use the phone as a GPS, that's OK, but that uses up a lot of cell time unless you are on an unlimited service plan.
Another really inexpensive choice is a rubber band through the vents wrapped around the top and bottom of the phone. (lol).
And what's the matter with your pocket? Do you have to look at the phone? It's not easy to make calls with the phone in there and you should wait 'till you stop anyway. If you just want to be able to answer the phone, get a bluetooth headset - it solves the hands-off requirement and works a lot better.
But some people just have to solve a problem that doesn't, or really shouldn't, exist. I just can't see spending a lot of money on something like that when there are so many other things to buy.
It works really well though. The arm flexes anywhere you need it, and I usually position it about 1" to the right of the shifter when in 5th gear.
I have those disks stuck to the dashes of my Chevy 2500HD and my Ford F350. I HATE having something on the windshield, and that arm being about 9" long puts it just about anywhere I need it.
Here is a pic of it on my Silverado. You get the idea. The metal piece is stuck inside of my phone's case. (Phone out of case to take picture)

The system I linked above actually takes advantage of your phone case, as the magnetic piece mounts inside your case.
And I use my phone for GPS (Waze app is awesome), which is perfectly legal and legit. Some users even tag weather on the app, which is helpful as the last thing I like is getting caught in a pop-up storm when I'm in my Vette.

Please post pics of your set up when you get a chance.
I use my phone for NAV, but also for music. I live out in the country, and the stock radio signal isn't that great for me. Add to that a stubby antenna, and it's pretty static-y. So, I ordered the iPad cable from Double D and now have superb tunes!
