Default 03 electron blue mini build

Just picked up my first corvette after being a street truck guy for years, car was a little rougher than what I was told by the seller but I thought it was a good deal anyways. Specs are:

2003 electron blue
137k (on the high side but it's my secondary vehicle)
borla cat back exhaust
light oak/black interior
19/20" front/rear cray wheels
kenwood cd player
sony rear speakers
kicker 15" sub in fiberglass box
sony amp

Plans are to make it a reliable and oem+ modded car, my main priorities are comfort and reliability.

Buff paint/respray same color (will have my paint guy check it out)
replace exhaust with quieter setup
replace hood with oem hood
oem wheels (will trade/sell the current wheel/tire setup)
fix audio install (I have most of a new system already, just need wiring)
get codes cleared
change interior to all black
sound deaden interior

Enough talking, onto the pics!

passenger seat out:

ground wire for the amp

power wire for amp:

pulled the cd player out, will be replacing and upgrading:

Congrats on getting the car and it sure is the right color. Good luck with all the changes you want to make.

Thanks! I'm excited, currently pricing going back to stock exhaust. The borla is too loud for my tastes.

Look into the Ti exhaust that comes standard on C5 Z06's. Sounds much better than the Caddy mufflers they threw on the coupes and verts, and its lighter too. Going rate for a used axle-back is around $300. Good luck.

I am with the quite crowd when I drive my 04 vert. Bought it in 2014 with Magna Flow exhaust and Goodyear run flats. Added a partition in the rear and can hear clearly (72 years old had some time people shooting at me in VN. Maybe I have a built in filter)) my CD player at any speed top up or top down. No noise that I would not expect with a vert.

Indeed. Ti exhaust is a great alternative to aftermarket systems. Definitely worth looking into. Quiet at idle and cruising, opens up a bit when you hit it. Love mine.

Nice color choice

Oh I know. You should have seen the speaker box. It had a towel shoved inside it to substitute for polyfill.

It's a cowl hood. I can see how from the side it looks bulged. If anyone is interested it's for sale/trade.

finished gutting the inteior and started poking around seeing what all needed replaced.

while looking around I noticed this:

Someone please tell me all this sludge is normal. My 03 silverado doesn't have it, i'm hoping it's just from the road.

No that sludge is not normal....looks like an oil leak. Front seal, Pan gasket...could be anything until you clean it up real good and monitor it,

Ok, thanks. I called a good buddy of mine who knows these engines. He's coming by to check it out tomorrow. On another note, I checked the glovebox and it says my interior code is 92I, which is light grey. I guess the interior is so nasty it looks tan.

Thanks! This is a great forum, everyone gets along so well, it's refreshing. I'm getting a quote for a full re-spray in the next week or two.

Hope it works out for you. EB is a great color on a C5.

Small update, buddy looked it over, saw several loose bolts around the oil pan so i'll be tackling that on my next day off, hopefully that fixes the issue.
