Hu gang....I sold my 84 and got a 98 vert. This forum saved my bacon many times and made my life much easier. Actaully, I used it to pressure the dealer into making a repair before I purchased. The oil pressure guage was pegged and the instrument cluster readout said 129. Bad sending unit to blame according to the post. They didnt like it but said they would fix it. So.....are there anythings I need to watch out for, or check out, or just plain replace?? All fluids replaced by the dealer already. THAK YOU

Congrats on getting your '98. Check out the link posted above for info on common problem areas. The C5 is quite reliable and remember not all cars will have those problems.

We bought a 2004 C-5 about a month ago. We needed to fix a differential case leak and the AC control as well as clean the AC condenser and engine coolant radiator. Since we bought the car we have driven a 450 mile day on one tank of fuel, driven through a frog strangler rain storm at 45 mph on an expressway nd a short stretch of graded gravel road.

Couple of Questions:

Does installing a coarse mesh screen (Gutter guard) in front of the air inlet create overheating problems?

Does installing "Dynamat" sound insulation cut the road noise from the back?

Congrats on getting a C5. I've had mine for a year and still love it. As far as the mesh screen, my car has it and I've never had an issue with overheating. Can't help you out with the dynamat. Previous owner installed it so I have nothing to compare it to. I never have problems with road noise from the back, my Corsa catbacks take care of that.
