I was looking thru some ads for corvettes for sale in my area. I have been a Vette Guy since early childhood, and try to stay up on all things Corvette. Well, this ad caught my eye, first because it is way over priced for the year/miles. Then I read the dealers notes. He says it is one of about 100 1999 and 2000 Corvettes that were special builds from the factory. The engine has a Procharger type supercharger on it, as well as lots of other custom items, but he says it is 100% factory built. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Did I really miss such a special factory built Vette?

I wonder what else the seller is lying about. That supercharger looks like an aftermarket insatallation, just don't know who kit that is, you can't see enough from that picture. Unless I'm unaware of this fact, no C5 ever came with a factory supercharger. I would like to see the build sheet proving me wrong. Since I've owned two C5's, I never heard of a factory car. It's also too expensive for what it is. Aftermarket wheels, taillight trim leads me to say someone is full of BS about this car. I'd be careful.
I am unaware of any factory built super charged cars. If it was factory, wouldn't it be on the window sticker. I don't think they would do it for free.

Never heard of a factory supercharged C5 and with an MSRP of only $40K and no mention of the S/C on the window sticker, the seller is blowing smoke. Sure would like to see the documentation of the factory addition of the S/C. Besides, the price is .
The only factory installed s/c's was in the C6ZR1 (LS9) and the C7Z06 (LT4). No other Corvette models have a s/c from the factory.
He's hoping to land a fish with more money than brains, so they can go brag to their friends that they have a factory s/c C5. Can't wait until an informed friend tells him otherwise.
Seems that the original owner was a better salesman (BS'er) than Cargurus. Also looks like they need a name change, www.Cargullible.com !!
Pretty bad when a car 'GURU' doesn't know the difference between a FRC and a coupe !! YIKES !!
Reminds me of an ad I saw on Craigslist a few weeks ago. Guy was selling a "Special Limited Edition" '97 Trans Am. It came from factory with an LT1 rated at 420hp (the same motor as the Z06 Corvettes apparently...). It had the badging and everything to prove it!

ask him to show you the supercharger on the build sheet... and the auto meter gauges, and motegi wheels... doesn't look like a bad car at all, it is pretty clean but not worth anywhere near what they are asking and the seller is obviously full of ****
