Not only was the "Breathless Performance" air intake system old, it was unwanted.
So I removed the old hacked lower radiator support cover and that ugly clear air box cover and filter and fog light housings.
I dremelled the fog light housings for an opening to let air to flow into the front of the engine and removed the OLD HACKED radiator cover.
Then I reinstalled the new radiator cover and twin air flow and the existing surrounding plastic pieces, (after cleaning and retreating all the plastic with Meguiare's.)
All I am waiting for now are the black Z06 style fog light screens and a cap for the air intake tubing that I will not be using.
I like it, good job! Are there any noticeable gains with cold air intakes?
Most definitely...
I have used the twin air system with the cold air coming through the front vented fog light housings for a long time. I simply do not like the concept of sucking air from beneath the car which was intended to scoop cool air for the radiator to be more efficient. (just my thoughts)
Warm engine and cool air is the object.
..and more cool air if possible, as in my supercharged Corvette which I converted from bottom air to cool front air into my twin air system:

If you don't mind me asking, what is under your tubing & filters? Painted plexiglass or aluminium? Does it serve a purpose?
It is a thin sheet of anodized red aluminum.
Before I had the supercharger, I had a bottom fed air cover.
I didn't like the air system, but I like the color red in the engine bay. So, rather than replace the lower radiator cover, I covered the square hole...and kept the iconic red beneath the shiney twin filter system.
