It looks good on paper but it's not a car I would really want to own. Maybe if they brought Pontiac back and released a Firebird version I would be more tempted. Overall, I'm not a big fan of Chevrolet or their recent styling trends.
oh yeah,,the 'Bird was always the better looking twin!!!!!!
personally i like the look of the new Camaro, but i don't think i could give up my Corvette for one. if anything i would consider a newer Vette before i went with a Camaro... still, i like what Chevy has done to improve the line of performance cars available from them.
1. Weight : 3500-3600 lbs
2. Engine : LT1 6.2 455 HP/ 455 ft lbs torque
3. Interior : Gauges seem to be right out C7 Corvette.
4. Chassis: Alpha platform, magnetic ride control
how do you figure the gauges look like a C7??? from all the pics i am seeing they look nothing alike, maybe the screen in the center is common between the two but that is about all
the weight i am reading its only 200lbs less the what the current car is
Dads too. Mine co-signed for an 81 Vette which he said would be a mistake.... He was right ! I put it into the guardrail 2 months after buying it! He knew but let me learn the hard way!
Never liked the 1st gen Camaro, and don't much like it's modern reincarnation either. Now the '71-'73 era cars, IMO, really looked good. If I wanted/needed a 2+2, I guess the Hellcat would be tempting - but it's pricey.
I'm intrigued. Based on the numbers I've been reading and it looks like it's as fast as a stock C5 Z06 was. The automatic is supposed to run a 12.3@116! Pretty darn quick for a Camaro. Definitely think the '16 looks better than the '15. And I like the new '15 Mustang GT too. Both nice cars. They are certainly coming a long way from the old days.

Can't imagine the response above. The first generation Camaro were great and reflected into todays market price. Unfortunately a few years behind the Mustang but they had both the look and performance for the late 60's. The 71 - 73 Camaros were pigs with low compression and a pile of pollution crap. The styling was OK but I never had the desire to own one because after 1970, nothing from the factory would go with any performance including the C3 vettes from that era. Then again there was JC Whitney to help owners with mods
A wannabe what? You really think Chevrolet would build a car to compete with another Chevrolet? And what's the real thing? Camaro isn't a sports car.

I like the looks of the new Camaro's [and Mustangs to]. Lot of bang for the bucks. Granted a new vette is much better [imo] but out of reach for many. I do like my c5 z06 better, but wanted a real 2 seat sports car with power.
Back to the Z06 though. Should be mocking up the TT's over Labor day.
Love the new Mustang GT. You can't beat the bang for the buck. If I were young again and decided to build another car, it would be a Mustang. It may be "just" a Mustang to some people, but I'm guessing there will be more than one Corvette that only see your taillights.
Not unless it has been significantly improved from last year. I sat in one and found it cramped, claustrophobic, very poor visibility, low rent interior (yes, even compared to my C5). The Camaro isn't even close to being in the same league as a Corvette, regardless of what the specs say on paper.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
