As a kid growing up I never said "Boy, someday I'm going to get me a Camaro." What I DID say was "Someday, yessir someday, I'm going to own my very own Corvette!" There is just something about a Corvette that seems a little magical to me. 63 years of manufacture and they still make me smile.
OK, truth be known, when I was a kid dreaming there was no Camaro to wish for. But had there been, I'd still have wanted the Corvette!
No, I drive a Corvette. But I've seen a few guys who really rock the girl cars, Camora, Mustang, Challenger models with the baby seats in them. LOL! I used to drive them when we had babies and had to go get groceries. But now I have the ability to own Corvettes and when I need stuff drive the truck.
It's just too funny after all those years in sedans and now finally being able to drive the best sports car GM ever made.
I'm ecstatic that Chevy is building the Camaro SS and pulling from the Corvette parts bin. Just means I may one day be able to snag an LT4 and trannie for my Chevelle project.
It looks good on paper but it's not a car I would really want to own. Maybe if they brought Pontiac back and released a Firebird version I would be more tempted. Overall, I'm not a big fan of Chevrolet or their recent styling trends.
I don't hate the camaro but it's just something about the new design over the last few years that makes me feel it is an entire brand new car and not worthy of the Camaro name.
The Dodge challengers and new Ford mustangs even went retro and kept some of the old designs on the new car design.
Not tempted at all. If the '16 Camaro is anything like the previous one, too many blind spots for me.
It has blind spots in places where the C5 doesn't even have spots.
I've found the latest run of retro muscle-cars to be almost claustrophobic, and the "chopped roof" look that causes it just throws the proportions off compared to the originals. Never thought I'd say it, but the newer Mustangs look better than the Camaros and Challengers.
It's nice, and if I needed a back seat; maybe. But we have a mini-van for that. I don't need to haul my wife and kids around in my car, it's my DD and fun car.
I checked out the pictures. Overall I am OK with the new-old style Challenger, Mustang, Camaro models. The interiors have everything you want and more, maybe too much more, but whatever...
I'll keep my Z06 thank you, even over the ZL1. Nicer, cleaner lines.
