What's this worth??
Keep looking until you can answer the question of market value pretty well by yourself, that's what I did. With mass media , it is pretty easy. I only looked at two car in person, but viewed many in the auto trader and such.
I also set aside a part of my budget for fettering the car, needed at the price range I was shopping. Few people sell a car because everything is in super swell whistle party perfect condition.
I was always taught, act in haste, repent at leisure. Works as a guideline with used corvettes, that's for sure. Some of the problems that posters report here make me wince. I am glad my car is a "good one," some are not. Most people avoid the type of condition you are describing since a "good one" will have less drama in its past.
My area is so crowded I find it hard to imagine an area where vettes are hard to find, unless you are hanging in Alaska, but I guess local area is a personal limit. I freeway drove about an hour for mine, but I live in a very densely populated area.
You didn't mention if the ls1 was from a vette or from a truck, with truck motors being more common as scrap.
Normally I have more cold water to throw around, but I am in drought rationing. Oh wait , I found some more.
You properly should deduct the cost of fixing all the codes from the selling price. If the brake pads or tires are thin, those are deducted also. I would also check the steering rack , if it is wet, deduct. That goes for any wet spots under the car, it's got those long miles, so you will find something.
That should get you to about the price most here would consider. It would get me to lace up my walking shoes, as my repair skills, and vette money are low, and a man has got to know his limits. I think Clint Eastwood said that. So unless you want to get bitch slapped all over town by Clint Eastwood, keep shopping.
If you want to spend $10-12-- there are good cars out there if you're patient....I'd pass on that one altogether.

If your budget is higher, I wouldn't mess with this car. 180k on the chassis, an engine swap, and warning lights on the dash would make me hesitant to even spend 7500 on it.
You'll come out ahead if you spend a little more for a better car that is actually worth buying. For example there is a beautiful 2000 convertible mag red automatic on my local CL with less than 100k miles and he's asking 12k. They would probably take 10 or 11.
Is that black 2001 an M6 or auto ? Do you care ? I think it's easier to find a deal on an automatic.
