2001 triple black convertible. Car has 180k+ miles. Tranny rebuilt 11k miles ago ($2k) New Paint in 2013. Interior seats need refinished. It has a different motor in it from another car. Runs great and Looks great with new c6 wheels. ABS and traction control code is on as well as an HVAC code. Thanks!! Looking to buy today if $10k is a good price

I think $11.5k is too high. A car with that many miles could easily have gremlins, and that's more money out of your pocket. If you can pick it up for a few thousand less... then it might be worth your time.

Not a chance or anywhere close- largely because of the mileage and engine change. $7500 tops IMO.

Ultimately it's your call. First step would be to get the car checked out by a professional, and to pull all the codes from the DIC. After that, all depends on what you're willing to spend. Either way, good luck to you sir. You'll love whichever C5 you pull the trigger on.

Appreciate the quick replies!! But you guys are the experts. I can pull codes but fairly new to the C5 scene. I did see a 98 with 97k miles in great shape for $12k that sounds like a better deal.
Not for me. Engine replaced, traction/ah problems, not original paint, codes, not for 10K, not for 7.5K unless I was building a race car. It's cheaper to buy a car for more that's already working and been taken care of.
Definitely no. Too many things repaired/replaced (mainly engine/paint). Not worth anything near $10k. Walk away and find a better deal. I would venture to say the car had a pretty rough life.

So offer $7,500 or is it just bad news altogether?
I would save a bit more money and pass on it altogether. You may spend up to $5K just getting it in decent working order, and then what do you have? Still a tired Vette with over 180K miles.
You should be able to find a decent Vert with little to no issues, ~100K miles, for 13K or so. You may have to travel though.

I agree. Way too many miles for that kind of money and for just a bit more you can get one in much better shape with no history of a replaced motor.
