Svt lol
I am sorry but a 500whp cobra will never hang next to a 450whp C6Z...my buddy has a c6z that makes around 485whp and he raced our other friend with a blown cayote making 665whp..all highway pulls. The C6z was by his rear fender the whole time...mind you the newer 5.0L mustangs are lighter than the old cobras, and my friends is the base version so very light.
... I haven't had the chance to run one of the new mustangs yet but with 650+rwhp I would expect one to take out a c6z with probably just an intake/tune worse than that... I guess it also depends on how big of a stretch they ran and if it was a roll race driver skill isn't really an issue unless someone missed a gear

And they make brutal amounts of torque at low rpms with the PD blower.
One issue they do have though, as with any blown car, is heat. Watch a couple of back to back dyno pulls and you can see hp #'s really drop off as the computer starts pulling timing out because of the heat. So that can be a variable on a street race.
Another "variable" in a street race is traction. I had a '00 GT 2V Vortech making 615rwhp. 1st and 2nd gear were a joke, just couldn't put the power down. Steady cruise, 4,000 rpms in 2nd gear... mat the pedal and it would roast the back tires. So again, more hp isn't always better. So a lower hp car can walk away if the other driver gets over zealous with the throttle. Again, driver comes into play.
My C5 is making 370rwhp and while fast, it doesn't pull nearly as hard as my Mustang did at 615hp. But I bought my Vette to use for road racing, and it's definitely the better choice for that application.
I wouldn't kick either one out of bed though.
