My exhaust tips were crooked, and after reading about the frustrations that some members had lining them up I came up with this solution to hold them in place while I loosened the clamps on the midpipe and the flange bolts. Tightened them up after clamping and it took me 20 minutes.
I've posted this method a few times over the years since I've installed and/or adjusted several models of aftermarket and stock exhaust on my C5 and a few others. Never fails to get it aligned correctly as long as the system is not damaged or welded incorrectly (had a couple of those).
