Console painting tips, prep work.
I am pulling my center console to install a new stereo. My console is in need of new paint, so while I have it off I am going to paint it. In my C4, when I repainted my console, I used non-acetone fingernail polish remover to strip all the old paint off without doing any damage to the plastic. Will that work with the C5 interior? I have places on my console, especially on the driver side where the PO's knee wore the paint off, so it will have to be stripped or you will be able to see that spot if just painted over. I have looked at a lot of the threads here about repainted interior, but cannot find one explaining the prep work prior to paint. Any help would be appreciated.
