I've been out of the Corvette world for a little over a year now but am back in the game with a black 2000 TT FRC.
Was buying a bunch of things the other day from various corvette websites and one of them was modded HALO LED taillights from jwmotoring.com.
After doing so I learned from a friend who has a C5 that apparently he's gone AWOL and has taken people's money!? I used paypal and never have made a dispute before but guess I'll be doing so now?
Does anyone have any more info on this? Really banging my head right now for forking over almost $300 without doing my typical research first. I just remember doing business with him in the past without any issue.
Hadn't heard anything about this, but, the first thing I noticed when I went to their website was the NO PHONE, NO WALK INS... was a red flag for me...I was just checking them out because they weren't far from me...

I agree. They are no longer a forum supporting vendor. Not sure what the whole story is, but something obviously happened to cause them to quit responding to customer inquiries. IMO, I would go ahead and file a dispute with PayPal since you only have so long to do so.
Jhonathan was one of the best vendors I ever worked with and was preparing to order more from him. It's a shame he's (apparently) no longer in business. My guess is something happened or he would have come on here telling people he was closing down.
Yeah, well he's lost all historical reputation and credit by still having an active website that's taking people's money (without providing product)! I'd call that a dirty crook.

over the years i have bought a lot of product from jhonathan and always found him to be very customer service oriented and he sold great quality products. something definitely must have happened in his life to make him do a 180 from what he had a great reputation for previously. sorry to hear about it though.
Very Bizarre!! I bought halo's from him last year and he was extremely helpful and I received the product really fast and in perfect condition.
Bad thing is I've had a couple lights in the halo blink out......will have to find somewhere else to fix it I guess!
I've also bought things from him. He always was a great vender and had great customer service. I have his halo led tails as well. If I were you I would contact radioflyer. He's fixed mine already once and he'll get ya fixed up I'm sure.

Sorry to hear that JWmotoring is no longer a vendor, I bought several things from him, including my L5's over the years and always was very prompt in getting the parts to me. I remember when he had telephone services available but, that didn't last too long. I think he mentioned something about it conflicting with schooling which he was doing and selling Corvette parts full-time.
If he's d**king people out of money with an active website and no return, then that is a complete 180 from the standard he projected before. Real shame....

He's really not taking anyone's money. His real site is down, but it appears his old website is still up. He was in the process of changing websites and it looks like the old one is still waving away in cyber space. Technically I guess you could still place an order, but I don't think your money goes anywhere. At least no one has reported not getting their money back. However, I agree, all historical goodwill goes out the window if he is actually pocketing any money. But that is such a 180 from how he was for years, it makes me wonder if something happened to him.
I guess another lesson to be learned here, don't buy from a website if you can't get to it's homepage.
There is a vendor with the same contact practice. The vendor is asking to e-mail and not to call when purchasing. I wonder if this is becoming a trend. I myself have bought from JWMotoring in the past. The last transaction I had with him, my bulbs were not shipped. I filed a claim and I received my money back. Said the manufacture did not have the product. Oh well. The other vendor has the name of DENVER-FAST(I THINK).
I won't buy from any internet retailer who won't list a valid contact number on their website. In the event of a problem, you are just asking for further headaches.
This isn't to say that most of them aren't legit. That's just my personal litmus test.
I think that vendors who do not have a phone number to contact them may be due to it is not their full time job, they work out of their home after working a full time job. So a phone number wouldn't be answered and they don't have to pay for a business line.

I'm guessing that's pretty common.
I have a small home business and a full time job. Before work I'd be waking the kids and no real time, after work is busy with kids etc.
Email is pretty much it...
I used to have an online business and had the phone calls routed to an answering service and when I got a chance I called EVERY one of my customers back.. It wasn't a big deal. You can have the calls routed to your cell phone also...
