I'm in the St. Louis area. There was an 04 with 14k on it that just sold here off of craigslist for 20,000. Not bad. I was too late on that one. The one I really like is the 03 and the guy is not returning my calls or emails today. Hope he is just busy or I waited one day too long.
...they do not last. If you find one, it pays to (a) know enough about them to pick out the issues that might be present (on the first look), then (b) make a decision. You could do the Corvette Forum "what do you think" dance forever. Good ones sell, quickly, unless they are are dramatically over-priced.
No matter if it's this car or another corvette. When you find the right corvette you want just figure what the right price is for YOU cause that's what matters. After you get the car the next problem will be how to get that smile off your face when your driving or just looking at car. I have had mine for five years and I can't seem to get rid of that smile yet!!!! I remember the hunt for my corvette was a blast!
I took a friend to car shop 2 yrs ago for his C-5. He kept asking me "What ya think?" Your $$$, your car, dreams do come true. Extra set of wheels to....Enjoy whatever you decide.
Not a killer price and couldn't flip it for a profit but not a bad price. Post some picks if u can. Be patient the right one will come along if not this one.
Well it sold, I really missed a great car that was taken care of. So my search will continue.
I know it stings a bit when you think you missed out... but, I have found sometimes it is for the better. You keep looking your liable to find EXACTLY what you want at a great price... be patient.
Looked at a 2004 today, 95k miles, $16000. Ran good, but oh how dirty, inside and out. Lots of ashes from smokers, big scratch on the fender from being parked at Walmart. They said it was serviced every 3k and I believe it but it sure was dirty. Going to look at a cleaner 02 with a lot less miles this weekend.
I am ready to buy my first Corvette. I have found a local seller with a 2003 with 46000 miles. Automatic. It is perfect in every way. Well cared for. Price is $19,000. I know the blue book is lower. Is that a good gauge to go by?
Like everyone has said, a little high for a base coupe, but not overly so.
Offer 15K and work to get a little off the price. Do it slow though.. Lot's of people negotiate too quickly. In that mileage range and year 20-23K will get you a Z06.
I did it! Bought the 2000 with 18,000 miles for $18,400. If I can figure out how to upload a picture, I will. The car is perfect and is just what I wanted. The fellow I bought it from couldn't come to the bank to do the deal because...well you know how he felt. After driving it this morning and agreeing on a price he said a fellow had looked at it yesterday and was thinking it over and promised the guy he would call him. The fellow never answered the phone so I hot the car. It is black and beautiful.
Still can not believe I have a vette. In 1981 or so I bought a Chevette. Anyone remember those? My buddies teased me about that. Just started a family and needed reliable transportation. It really wasn't too reliable though. Anyway I called one of those buddies last night and said remember 30 something years ago when you razed me about that Chevette? Well, I got it right this time come over and see my Vette.
