Do you do it to your wifes Minivan or your pickup truck or just to the Corvette ?
Inquiring minds want to know
There seem to be a whole group of people who think that a Corvette is somehow different from every other car that comes off an assembly line.
Some wont drive them in the rain for fear of getting them wet
Some wont drive them if it's too cold out.
Some dont drive them if it's too hot out.
Some dont drive them at all for fear of wearing them out...
Some dont drive them until all lug nuts have been torqued since yesterdays drive...
I Dont understand
I just do it with the Vette. I don't care about the other cars.
Actually C5 Corvettes are different. For one thing they are older than most cars on the road. You really haven't figured that out by now?
I do drive mine everywhere and even took a 4000 mile trip with it. I just want my 15 year old car to last a long time with minimum problems. Heat and moisture are two big enemies of cars. What's wrong with trying to minimize the damage?

Our C5 is different than a mini van and pickup...
Some drive their vette as daily drivers rain or shine
Some drive their vette when it's snowing and icy
Some drive their vette when it's 100+ degrees and windy
Some drive their vette very aggressively and know things will wear out or break...
Some drive their vette and have NEVER torqued a lug nut...
Update: I'm 90% convinced it's just the expanding and shrinking of the various metals. I got out my infrared gun and measured everything in sight, and everything was right where it should be.
To the guys suggesting the a/c, it's definitely coming from the engine block or the exhaust manifolds, but thanks for the suggestions.

Do you have stainless exhaust?it will make noises as it cools.
Mine makes a similar noise in the summer when I've been running the AC. It's the sound of water melting off of the AC tubing and dripping on the hot exhaust pipes. Nothing to worry about.

Turn your hearing aids off and you won't hear it.
Just kidding, well kinda. I don't hear near as much without mine.
