Default Convertible night mare

I have a 1998 convertible - the other day I wanted to put the top down and went to press the release switch behind the driver's seat on the underside of the deck lid. When I touched it it came apart - a yellow button and a small spring are the only parts I came up with. I've ordered a new switch but the dilemma now is how to replace it. I've got a full set of shop manuals for the car, but there is no information on the switch replacement. I got the lid open with the manual release cable, but I don't know how to replace the switch. Can anyone help?

My bad. Old fart moment. Reading comprehension deficiency.

Default Yep, simple as that

and right on advice.
Replacing the switch itself should be a snap. I did learn the hard way when cleaning the grounds on my previous 01 to disconnect the battery when messing with electricals, but it should not be necessary for this replacement.

I hope you know your Owners Manual tells you where the manual release cable is.

He addressed that in the last sentence of his original post:

"I got the lid open with the manual release cable"
