So I have a chance to trade in my 2004 C5Z with about 95k miles on it for a 2007 non-Z51 magnuson supercharged coupe with 40k miles. At a dealership. The thing is, I'm scared that the 2007 may be too good of a deal and that I'm going to run into problems dealing with the motor.. Is a stock internal LS2 safe on low boost??

To many Variables to say...How does the owner drive the car? Has it been taken car of? And on and on. If it were me Id be sticking with the C5. But that's just My Opinion.

That I'm not sure of.. The car is very clean. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet. Just stopped by to look at it before work. Only aftermarket parts are supercharger and axle back.
Well amenities and performance aside, you will be trading the better looking vette for a C6. If that's ok with you, then you have your answer.
Shakey
My main concern is the motor. Is an LS2 safe with a magnuson supercharger with stock internals? If the car hasn't been beaten on and taken care of am I safe?

do a cylinder leakdown test, then you will know. ringlands are usually what go first on boosted cars tuned off. a leakdown will tell you
other thing is how much cash you have to add on top. that decides if it's a good deal of not
your car is worth around 10k less than the supercharged 07 just as a ballpark

Didn't even think of that. I will have it checked out thanks! And I'm getting a pretty good deal. Dealership said my car with 6k on top and it's mine. Btw my Z is stock

One thing to consider if going the C6 route. From 2008 on, they started using the TR6060 transmission which is much better than the T56 in the C5 and early C6's. If I were to get a C6, it would be 2008 or later for that reason. The T56 is awful. Had to replace mine after a mere 50K because of bad synchros.

The t56 isn't awful at all, sure it's not as stout as a tr6060, but it's a great trans. If it was awful it wouldn't have been used for so long.
Sounds like a really good deal for the OP, I much prefer the c5z, but hard to argue with the numbers on that deal.
In answer to you question about the Ls2, it would be safe on low boost but as previously mentioned a leak down test would be a vey prudent thing to have done. the boost could have been "turned up". It doesn't matter now because it looks like you kept the better looking car anyway.
That is a pretty sweet deal.... How much boost? 6-8psi should be good... You should look around in the boosted/Nitrous C6 section....

I wouldn't have done it. I like my C5 too much and C6's just don't look that good to me. Anyway, I do a lot of work for new car dealers as a sublet to them. I see a lot of the things they do. On the whole they are much better nowadays than they used to be, with all the laws governing what they can get away with. Believe me, they aren't giving a good deal out of the goodness of their heart. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Good move on your part.
