That's my club. The Foothills Corvette Club based in Wilkes County. Every year we organize the Run to the Colors cruise to view the autumn leaves and a bunch of regional clubs drive a significant distance to participate. There were 138 cars riding with us this year. Lots of good people with nice cars. We drive up to Shatley Springs near Jefferson from Empire Chevrolet in Wilkesboro (about 50 minutes), eat a big lunch together (we reserve the whole restaurant), and then drive through the country up to Woodlawn, VA where Jeff Johnson Chevrolet hosts us with homemade cookies and drinks. All the local law enforcement and fire departments help escort us through the towns along the way. It's a great event that helps us raise money for our charitable projects.
BTW, my black 2002 Z06 is just to the left of the red convertible on the left of the photo. There were five or six cars beyond that. I think we had 138 officially, but there could have been more as some may not have registered at the Driver's Meeting.

I was wondering if that black Z06 was yours but was thinking yours had red stripes on the hood, I've seen you in West Jefferson a few times, I did drive a blue coupe now have an 02 Z06
I did have the stripes until Bambi wandered out in front of me a few months ago. I just had the whole car repainted factory black.
That stinks! But it looks awesome factory black without the stripes in my opinion.. The stripes were the only reason I didn't buy it from the Chevrolet dealership
Keep an eye out for a 98' Pewter hatchback with OEM grand sport wheels and flag me down. I'm always game to meet forum members and local Corvette enthusiasts.

You'll be 30 minutes from "The Snake" in Shady Valley TN, 489 curves in a 15 mile radius, we take the bikes or the cars there a lot! Tag along anytime BUT we drive and ride hard! We've got fast cars and bikes that handle for a reason

I'm down to go anytime. I've had a CBR 954 and a 07 GSXR 750 that loved to go fast, especially in the turns... I find that the Corvette loves 181 more than anything! The faster the better IMO

Yeah 181 is awesome, just gotta watch out for cops, we've got a good road to get to Shady Valley from here though with a good mix of speed and curves

That's awesome! Next time you plan a trip be sure to PM me.. If I have the Corvette in Boone I'll definitely be game. Though during the winter it'll be back home covered up.
