Hello, I'm looking a 2003 z06 and on the carfax report it says it was auctioned with 860 miles on it? I've done a small amount of research. Does this mean it could be a pilot car? Here are the last 6 of the vin. If someone could check the full vin that would be great so I can pull the trigger on this. 130074
Looked on door sticker and glove box no WD0 or WD1 on them.
Just wondering why "listed at auction" would be first on a car fax unless it was a dealer/factory auction.

Many people buy Vettes and 'put them up' thinking they will appreciate in value. it is seldom the case anymore.
Because on the Carfax the first thing that is listed is auction at 860 miles. No dealership ever took delivery until after the 860 miles which seems odd to me.

Sounds like a dealer demonstrator that never got sold. In some states delivery to the dealer doesn't generate any title/registration paperwork visible to Carfax.
Could also be a car that was used by a GM division for testing/evaluation and then sold at a local auction. These cars usually got a Manufacturer's plate so they could be driven on the street but these plates didn't come with a Certificate of Title.
My '87 was originally delivered to the GM Environmental Services Division in Warren, MI. I have the first registration slip from the person that bought the car from GM after they had it for a full year. The build sheet for the car doesn't show a WD0 or WD1 code either.
A local Chevrolet dealer to me sells off a Corvette yearly that has considerable mileage on it before it even gets off the MSO. The wife of the owner of the dealer network gets a new Corvette every year, drives it with dealer tags, and then they either attempt to sell it at the dealership straight from the MSO or auction it off. When the C7 came out for the '14 year model, they sold a '13 GS with over 4,000 miles on it and the buyer would have **technically** been the first owner had it came up on CarFax since they would have received the first title assignment (or the holder of the lien if a lien was placed).
It is a bit odd, but such an occurrence is not uncommon at all.
Unless I'm mistaken, a pilot car is an early production vehicle with a very low sequence #. This one is #30074, a lot closer to the end of production than it is to the beginning...
