Default Air conditioner problem

11) After the Corvette is parked overnight, or parked at work for 8 hours or so, there is an air conditioner problem. Upon starting the Corvette and turning on the air conditioner, for the first second or two, foul-smelling air is blown out. Then the smell clears and is no longer noticeable. No smoke or particulate matter is blown out. This happens EVERY time. This happens whether the air conditioner flow control is set to fresh air or recirculate.

When the Corvette is parked and turned off for a shorter duration, like during a shopping trip, there is no odor problem upon starting it back up again. This only occurs during longer-duration intervals of non-use.

What might be causing this? Mold inside the ducts? If so, how could it have entered?

According to CARFAX, this Corvette was not damaged by flood. However it was in Delaware during hurricane Sandy, so water might have entered the A/C ducts somehow, if possible. Any thoughts on this?

Regardless, what should I do? Take it to an air conditioner shop? Lord knows I do not want to be ripped off. Any recommendations in Dade or Broward County, Florida?

Thank you, everyone, for reading about my Corvette's imperfections, and for offering solutions.

Here are some suggestions for getting the bad smell out of the A/C system.
