10) The rear view mirror is auto-dimming. Although I like technology and automation, every electrochromatic mirror I've used in my various cars all had the same problems. They did not darken quickly enough, dark enough, or provide a manual override such as a button to darken the mirror. Perhaps the sensors do not "see" the oncoming headlights very well. Maybe the manufacturers of these devices are afraid of getting sued, so they dial down the functionality.
Does anyone know of a hack to be able to get the mirror to darken with less of a trigger, to darken more dark, and to darken at a touch of a button rather than from its useless sensor? It's so bad, in my opinion, that I am considering replacing it with a standard C5 mirror, available from several on-line aftermarket retailers.

The C5 has a button on the rearview mirror that turns on/off the electrochromic function. The button is identified by the lO button in the bottom center of the mirror. My mirror darkens rather fast and does a very good job of blocking the excessive glare from headlights.

It took a little time to get used to the mirror function, but I really appreciate it after using it for period of time.
Maybe if I ever get my windows tinted, I will ask the tint shop to tint the rear view mirror also. An alternative might be to replace it with an aftermarket rear view mirror that operates manually. I found one in the Corvette Central catalog:
