Before I start ripping my Y2K apart, I thought I'd ask if anyone else had this problem and what they found. My turn signals work great until they don't. Then, half an hour later they work great again. No codes, everything else works like new. Please let It be something simple. Thanks for any clues!

Next time the stop working just tap the hazard lights a few times and see if they come back.
If they do, then your hazard switch needs to be replaced, or at least worked out.
To work it out you basically just tap it more times than a freshman at ECU and it will work for a long time. Going on 3 months since I did it and signals working flawlessly.
I had the same problem in my coupe. Pushing in the hazard switch a few times would normally fix the problem. Then, it started to happen more frequently and pushing the hazard switch wouldn't always work.
I was going to replace the hazard switch, but it is a $100 plus part and a pain to replace. I found there is a cheaper and easier fix, which is to buy an install a hyperflash harness. I wanted to upgrade my DRLs to LEDs so it made perfect sense to do. Picked one up from Radioflyer when he was running a sale a year or two back. Took all of 5 minutes to install. I think they run about $65 full price.
A hyperflash harness will fix your problem and, as an added bonus, will allow you to install LEDs in the future with no hyperflashing.
This one even includes 2 LEDs for you license plate lights for just $34.99
Stupid question.where does this go,and does it allow me to not have to use load equalizer?will it be good for front and rear LEDs.i didn't like the idea of having to splice the harnes to run the equalizer.
Plugs into the flasher harness under the dash to the left of the flasher button. Yes you do NOT need load equalizers when you have this device installed. Works for front and rear LED bulbs. Only shortcoming of it is that it works fine for signal lights but the hazard flasher will still hyper flash due to the way the hazard flasher works.
Thanks,so I'm guessing it does away with the oem flasher altogether, just plugs in,in place of it.i pulled #2 fuse for DRLs because of the heat,my housing are cracked from the heat,so I want to replace with new clear ones, with nice LEDs.any thoughts?
about 2 weeks into having my 2000 vette (got it in Aug), i was having break and turn signal problems. my mechanic friend had to change out the hazard switch in my car, switch was bad (he said it was a $90 part). he also said it wasn't fun replacing it. so they do go bad and cause turning signal problems!!!!!

The Hazard switch is normally $24 dollars and easy to replace.
Note that the hyperflash harness may also go bad. I had the rapid turn signal on my passenger side although all my LED lights were working. I too thought it was the hazard module, however I thought I would swap out the hyperflash harness first since it was over 5 years old. I did, and everything works great again.
