Is it the passenger side that is wider? ....A "good" body shop can let you know what they can do. You are now cursed with this knowledge , you will look at all cars now and see lots much worse than yours!

The drivers side has the wider gap.
I will post several pics later this evening.

Any suggestions on why it's like this? Or am I being too **** about body alignment?

That looks like crap!

ON a side note I think it can be fixed to some extent that it will not bother you.
I received mine still wrapped in the original body plastic and I noticed that there was a gap at the top of the passenger door at the window pillar so with 10 miles on the clock I took it in and watched the mechanic take the door panel off and loosen a couple of bolts and he tilted the door in just the slightest amount and closed the gap ...
You can't really see it, but it was an ugly gap at the top of the door where it was supposed to meet at the window pillar...a minor adjustment fixed it nicely...

Just showing you these pics to prove that it came basically straight from Bowling Green via Kerbecks to me with the "gap"

Looks like some sort of aftermarket splitter/spoiler is installed on the front: methinks the front fascia and maybe the fenders were removed/replaced at some point after it left the factory.

What makes it look like an aftermarket splitter/spoiler is installed? And why is it you think these parts have been removed? Im not disagreeing with you I'd just like to know why you think that.

Never mind, it's the bottom of the turn-signal recess. The first picture in post #28 was taken at the perfect angle to show that lip but not any of the lens...fooled me completely, had to stand in the garage for a couple minutes to convince myself it was possible.
And I figured the fascia may have been taken off to install/paint the splitter, and the fenders at least loosened during the reinstall of the fascia.

Hey just an update on this post for anyone who might be dealing with the same issue i had. I messed around with my pass quarter panel to see if I could relocate the panel to help that terrible gap I had going on. It was a success, the car looks so much better now and I feel much better about it when people are checking my car out. Here's a pic after I worked on it.

Even the spear is much closer to being aligned. Nice job. And thanks for the follow up
